We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for a Professional Doctorate in Occupational Psychology Thesis Supervisor at Birkbeck Business School, an esteemed part of the Business & Law Faculty. As an Occupational Psychology Thesis Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality teaching to Birkbeck students, and supervising the thesis stage for our Professional Doctorate students in Occupational Psychology
  • Supervising student projects, field trips, dissertations and placements where applicable
  • Developing teaching materials and methods to meet defined learning objectives
  • Encouraging critical thinking and fostering debate among students
  • Undertaking relevant administrative duties to maintain key student assessment records and other related documentation
  • Contributing to the development, planning, and design of new study programmes.
  • The ideal candidate for an Occupational Psychology Thesis Supervisor role should have:

  • A depth of specialist knowledge as a Chartered Psychologist with a PhD or Professional Doctorate
  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to lecture and lead other taught sessions clearly and effectively
  • Good level of information and communication technology skills particularly in application to standard packages and virtual learning environments
  • Experience in formal teaching and supervision of at least one student to completion
  • Membership of the British Psychological Society's Division of Occupation and Organizational Psychology
  • A publication record associated with applied psychology and a passion for developing research practice.
  • If you have experience or interest in roles such as Occupational Psychology Lecturer, Psychology Thesis Advisor, Psychology Research Supervisor, Psychology Academic Mentor, or Psychology Dissertation Supervisor, this role could be an excellent fit for you.

    Remuneration

    First supervisors: £750 per annum/Second Supervisors: £400 per annum. Starting rate (£26.68 per hour) Grade 7 is inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay. The rate of pay is per student per year, you will supervise up to three students.

    Terms and Conditions
