MCCI in Collaboration with Analog Devices is offering a PhD scholarship position in the area of Precision Analog Mixed-Signal Circuits. This is a unique opportunity to undertake a programme of research in close collaboration with Analog Devices.
Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland (MCCI) is an EI / IDA technology centre hosted at the Tyndall National Institute. Its mission is to carry out industry-led world-class Analog, Mixed-Signal and RF integrated circuit research and to deliver trained people and IP to industry. MCCI is collaborating with 35 companies and many of the staff transfer into the thriving microelectronics industry in Ireland. MCCI targets real-life applications with its research and currently has projects in diverse topics such as DNA detection for food safety, next generation communications, biomedical imaging sensors, Industry 4.0 sensors, bio-sensing, imaging for security applications and early cancer detection and integrated power management solutions.
Analog Devices design and manufacture a variety of semiconductor solutions that operate at the intersection of the physical and digital worlds to sense, measure and interpret signals and connect them to the cloud. The applications areas include sustainable transport, 5G wireless networks, the connected factory, green energy, and digital healthcare and personal electronics. Analog Devices has a large presence in Ireland with centres at Cork, Limerick and Dublin with many engineers working at the cutting edge of technology with customers in these markets. About Your Studies
As a Doctoral candidate you will be offered a 4-year scholarship, based in the Tyndall National Institutes offices in Cork. You will have a proven ability for working independently and will undertake a programme of research. An official go/no go progress assessment will be completed within your first 12 months. At the end of the 4 years, you are required to write and submit a thesis for examination.

The annual stipend is €22,000 pa. Yearly University academic fees will paid by the Tyndall National Institute.
